Board of Directors
Francis Harrison serves as the President of the Board of The Compass School of Texas. Francis is a Dallas native who graduated from The Episcopal School of Dallas in 2006. She furthered her education and bachelors degree of Political Science and Spanish at several domestic and international universities including the College of Charleston, Universidad de la Habana in Havana, Cuba, and Diego Portales Universidad in Santiago, Chile. After graduating, she worked for the nonprofit organization, Operation Smile, translating for medical teams in hospitals, and archiving medical histories. Following her nonprofit work, she opened her company, Conscious Cultures LLC, and was able to secure OFAC licensing to take US citizens on licensed educational trips to Cuba. Francis moved back to the United States to start her family, and focus on her participation in her family company, The Rosewood Corporation. She is honored to have her two daughters attending Compass.
Caroline Harrison serves as the Vice President of the Board of The Compass School of Texas. Caroline is a Dallas native and mother of two sons. She ventured to Indiana for high school and attended The Culver Academies. Her love for nature brought her to The University of the South: Sewanee where she graduated with a Bachelor Arts degree while majoring in Psychology.
Caroline began volunteering in public schools during her time at Culver and continued during her time at Sewanee. She now spends her time volunteering and raising funds for the Cattle Baron’s Ball. She currently is a board member for the Rosewood Corporation and a trustee for the Rosewood Foundation.
Frances Mitchell serves on the Board and as Secretary of The Compass School of Texas. Frances is a Dallas native and mother of two Compass students. She graduated from Highland Park High School and has her undergraduate degree from SMU’s Cox School of Business. Frances began her career in the Energy industry at Exxon Mobil, where she worked as a Financial Analyst. After marrying her husband, Noah, she moved to Istanbul, Turkey to join him in working in oilfield services with Viking Coil Tubing, where she worked as Vice President of Accounting. They later moved to London, England before returning to Dallas, where Frances served as Human Resources Director of Riata Corporate Group and TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. for six years. Frances is passionate about education at all stages and currently serves on the Cox School of Business Alumni Board, Highland Park High School Alumni Association Board, and is a Regional Advisory Board Member of Teach for America. Additionally, she is a Board Member and the Scholarship Committee Chair of Snowmass Western Heritage Association & Rodeo, and volunteers with Park Cities Presbyterian Church as a producer of the Deep Light podcast.
Tanya Davis is the Treasurer and serves on the Board of The Compass School of Texas. Originally from Sarajevo, Bosnia, Tanya immigrated with her family to England where they resided for four years, and ultimately moved to Dallas in 1996. Tanya attended The Hockaday School and received her Master’s Degree in Accounting from Trinity University. She began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York City and transferred back to Dallas. She is currently an Accounting Manager at The Rosewood Management Corporation.
Tanya enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, and volunteers raising funds for the America Cancer Society via the Cattle Baron’s Ball.
Jennifer Richards serves on the Board of the Compass School of Texas. Jennifer graduated in the top of her class from both Texas Christian University and the Baylor University School of Law before beginning her career as a law clerk to the now Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Later, she practiced law in the trial department at an international law firm and as a partner at a Dallas-based litigation firm before founding Richards Law PLLC. Now, Jennifer focuses on resolving complex disputes for business leaders both in and out of the courtroom. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School.
Jennifer is married to Stewart Richards, a Dallas native and the director of real estate for a private equity firm. They enjoy spending time with their two sons in nature, supporting their alma mater, TCU, and are active members of The Grove at Highland Park United Methodist Church.
Alex Wilcox serves a Board Member of The Compass School of Texas. Alex is the CEO and co-founder of JSX. Prior to JSX, Alex was a founding executive of JetBlue Airways as well as president and COO of Kingfisher Airlines until 2006. Alex started his career in customer service at Virgin Atlantic Airways, where he helped David Tait, who headed US Virgin Atlantic.
Alex was born in London, United Kingdom to an American father and a Swiss mother. He grew up in Brooklyn NY and North Hero VT, attended the University of Vermont and earned a BA in political science and English. While in college, Alex worked for Southwest Airlines in Dallas. After college, Alex managed the Naildrivers, a rock band, for two years. He is husband to wife, Sara, and father to incoming Compass students, Wyatt and Poppy.
Brad Means serves as a Board Member of The Compass School of Texas. Brad holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a BSBA in Finance & Accounting from Creighton University. He has lived in Dallas since 2001 after career stops in New York City, Chicago, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Houston. Brad is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Riata Corporate Group and its portfolio of operating and investment companies. Prior to joining Riata, he was a Partner and Managing Director of Petro Capital Funds. Brad is also a former Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager of Highland Capital Management, LP where he managed investment teams responsible for deploying capital in leveraged finance markets through a variety of fund structures. At Highland, Brad was portfolio manager of several publicly traded funds and co-led the Retail Products investment team. He also worked for FTI Consulting where he advised clients in bankruptcy and turnaround situations, and worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in strategy, M&A, business development and auditing roles.
Brad and his wife, Becky, have two children currently pursuing their undergraduate degrees. Colin is studying Biomedical Engineering and Economics at Yale University and Kendall is studying Finance at Southern Methodist University.
